• Senior synonym of Tydeus spathulatus [Tydeidae] according to Thor (1933: 38), Oudemans (1937: 925), Baker (1970: 173) and Kaźmierski (1998: 357).

Notes

• Tydeus goetzi was first identified as T. caudatus by Akyazi et al. (2017: 12). Tydeus caudatus auctorum might designate Tydeus goetzi, at least in somes cases (André, 2021: 1031).
• Numerous references to a so-called Tydeus caudatus are listed in André (2011). Dugès could not describe the same mite species in two distinct groups (Tenuipalpidae and Tydeidae). The real identification of Tydeus caudatus auctorum varies depending on the reference and remains undetermined in most cases (but see the notes). Tydeus caudatus is thus a nomen nudum although the binomen is still used in subsequent publications [e.g. Tempfli et al. (2015: 941), Arnaudov (2016: 186, 190), Darbemamieh et al. (2016: 603, 608), Silva et al. (2016: 35), Darbemamieh et al. (2020: 2020)].
