Pronematus bengalensis Gupta & Paul 1985

  • Type locality: Midnapur Dist., VilI. Patharkumkurni, ex nest of baya Ploceus philippinus, West Bengal (India)
  • Holotype: ♀ - The National Collection of the Zoological Survey of India, Calcutta, Reg. No. 3216/17.

  • The original description does not provide chaetotactic data.
  • "Therefore, we doubt that these two species belong to the genus Pronematus" concluded Ueckermann et al. (2024: 303) about indiana and bengalensis.
