Vampyressa thyone Thomas, 1909: 231

  • Holotype: BMNH 97.11.7.77, adult ♂, body in alcohol with skull removed, collected by William Frederick Henry Rosenberg on 30 April 1897.
  • Type locality: “Chimbo, near Guayaquil, [Bolívar,] Ecuador. Alt. 1000' [=350 m]”.

    • Holotype: USNM 173832, subadult ♀, body in alcohol with skull removed, collected by A. Busck in May 1911.

  • Vampyressa venilla Thomas, 1924: 533 [synonymised by Peterson (1968: 11, 14)]
    • Holotype: BMNH 24.3.1.73, adult ♀, skin and skull, collected by Latham Rutter on 12 November 1923.
