- Holotype: BMNH 97.11.7.77, adult ♂, body in alcohol with skull removed, collected by William Frederick Henry Rosenberg on 30 April 1897.
- Type locality: “Chimbo, near Guayaquil, [Bolívar,] Ecuador. Alt. 1000' [=350 m]”.

- Holotype: USNM 173832, subadult ♀, body in alcohol with skull removed, collected by A. Busck in May 1911.

- Holotype: BMNH 24.3.1.73, adult ♀, skin and skull, collected by Latham Rutter on 12 November 1923.
- Type locality: “San Lorenzo, 500'”, Loreto, Peru.
