I want to join in with Dan's message above, and thank you for the many very welcome Danish translations. Thanks! If you are interested, I've added links for (future) Danish translations to the table of languages here: Wikispecies:Localization. Unfortunately the links are write-protected for all but administrators, so you can't click on any of the many "red" Danish links and create the pages yourself. However please send me a list with the Danish translations of the English words (in the left column) and then I can create the Danish pages from your translations. There are about 110 untranslated phrases to deal with, but luckily almost all of them are one-word only. Please also have a look at the approx. 15 blue links to already created Danish translations, to check that they are okay.

You can add your list with translations to my talk page, or better yet create a new thread for Danish translations at Wikispecies talk:Localization. That page is regularly monitored by several admins, all with the ability to create the needed Danish pages. This will help a lot, since the Wikimedia servers then use those pages to automatically translate a rather big bulk of words and phrases used in many headlines, categories, templates, lists, tables etc. all over Wikispecies. (In other words the translations listed on Wikispecies:Localization are used system-wide for many parts of the user interface, and by the wiki server software, which is also the reason why they are write-protected for most users.)

If this sounds interesting to you then by all means please help out – it would be most welcome, especially since the number of Danish speaking Wikispecies-users is growing. However bear in mind that there is no real urgency, and that no one will hold a grudge if you feel someone else should do the translations instead... 😉 😀 Best regards, Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 17:37, 30 September 2018 (UTC).

Thanks a lot. I've made some preparations to ease your work. I created this page as a subpage of my own user page. There you can edit the tables directly, replacing the dashes in the Danish columns with your translations. As a result there is no need to translate them all in bulk, and you can translate as many of the phrases as you want at any given time. Also, you don't have to transfer your translations to any other page, and it will be easy for me to add them to the "proper", write-protected pages listed in Wikispecies:Localization which are used by the server. As an extra benefit I have all my user pages in my watchlist and will be automatically noted when you have made a contribution, so you don't have to tell me about your progress unless you want to or have a question, which of course is fine.

If you come across an English word that can't be translated, please replace the dash with N/A or similar so I know that word is not available. For example there is no Swedish translation for the English word "mammalogist" (i.e. a scientist studying mammals), and perhaps there are Danish equivalents as well.

Good work on your last update: most of them have now been added to the database! I added a list of edit statistics to the page, which may help us both. There's no need for you to edit the data in the statistics section, since the stats will be automatically updated as we work.

I took the liberty to change "Blokerede brugere" (plural?) to "Blokeret bruger" (singular?) since the English original says "Blocked user" (singular). I hope this is correct? The phrase is mainly used in templates informing single users that they have been blocked, or for informing admins about a block already been put to place. The word needs to be added in singular form, since it always only concerns one specific user. Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 16:43, 1 October 2018 (UTC).
