edit- The subfamily Triophtydeinae was erected by André (1979: 202).
- "Meyerellinae [old name for the Edbakerellinae] and Triophtydeinae could be combined as a single group" suggested André (1979: 202).
- The subfamily Triophtydeinae was raised to full family rank by André & Fain (2000) after cladistic analyses.
- No fossil record according to Dunlop et al. (2020: 77).
