Request to add Assamese

Protection level

Could the protection level of this template be reduced to semi-protection? It was protected in 2005 at a time when Wikispecies was vandalised a lot, but now that WS is more peaceful a full protection may no longer be necessary. Korg (talk) 20:31, 9 October 2016 (UTC)

@Koavf: I was wondering why I could not edit the template, but I figured out that it is transcluded onto the Main Page which is protected by cascading protection. I'm not sure what could be done now... Korg (talk) 21:19, 9 October 2016 (UTC)

@Chinamoonroll: there is one page titled Tepas (suggested by you above, according to Wikidata in Sundanese language, Basa Sunda: Q21447801) and one called Pendhapa (created in June 2020, added in April 2021, in Javanese according to Wikidata, Basa Jawa: Q21474049). Is the one suggested by you a duplicate of the old one, but listed in the wrong language? –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 05:37, 30 September 2021 (UTC).

@Tommy Kronkvist: Isn't wrong, but I mean the link for the Javanese version in this template is duplicated, the one as "Basa Jawa" and the other "Jawa".

• The link named "Basa Jawa" links to a Wikispecies page with the file name Tepas. As I said before, according to Wikidata that page is listed as a "Wikimedia multilingual project main page in the Sundanese language". See the corresponding Wikidata page here: Q21447801, where you will again see a backlink to the Wikispecies page "Tepas", but also links to the "Tepas" main page in Wikimedia Commons, and to the "Sunda" main page in the Wikisource project.

• The link named "Jawa" links to a Wikispecies page with the file name Pendhapa. As I said before, according to Wikidata that page is listed as a "Wikimedia multilingual project main page in Javanese". See the corresponding Wikidata page here: Q21447801, where you will again see a backlink to the Wikispecies page "Pendhapa", but also links to the "Pendhapa" main page in Wikimedia Commons, and to the "Basa Jawa" main page in the Wikisource project, "Pendhapa/Kaca Utama" main page in MediaWiki, "Pendhapa" main page in Meta-Wiki, and to the "Pendhapa" main page in Wikidata.

In other words:

1. At least one of the two Wikispecies pages is wrong, or
2. At least one of the many pages listed at Wikidata is wrong, or

Unfortunately I can't easily fix this problem, mainly since I don't know neither Javanese nor Sundanese. I'm sorry about that.
