Notes

• The genus Oriola was erected by Baker (1968).
• The next year, Baker proposed a replacement name, Oriolella, as he thought Oriola was a preoccupied name (the name of the golden oriole (Aves) is not Oriola but Oriolus).
• Oriolella is used in some publications, e.g. in Kaźmierski (1998) who lowered Oriola in hierarchic rank and included it in the genus Proctotydaeus (Kaźmierski, 1998: 36) and in Da-Costa et al. (2020).
• The name Oriola was revalidated by André (2004).
