Ponticola kessleri (Günther, 1861)

• Replacement name for Gobius platycephalus Kessler 1857, preoccupied twice in same family.

• Lectotype: ZIN 2107.
  • Lectotype designated by Pinchuk, 1977
• Paralectotypes and/or Kessler material: NMW 29446, 3067 (1), 30552-53 (2); ZIN 2107a (1, lost), 2109 (1).

Type locality: Dniester River, Ukraine.
