Notes
edit- Type species of the genus Melanotydaeus.
- "The type, in the Berlese collection, is in extremely poor condition, and it is impossible to know what the genus actually is" (Baker, 1965: 102).
- In 1965, it was"the only known species in the genus" (Baker, 1965: 103).
- All the other tydeids described before by Baker "form a small group within the genus Tydeus" (Baker, 1965: 102).
- "Ancient" species according to Kaźmierski (1998: 357)
