Name

edit

Larifuga Loman, 1898: 527.

Type species: Larifuga weberi Loman, 1898: 527, by monotypy.

Gender: masculine

Note: From Latin lărĭfŭga (vagabond, wanderer). Gender masculine. 1st declension noun. Genus Larifuga has been treated as feminine by subsequent authors such as Pocock, Lawrence, Kauri, etc., so several revised inflections had to be made on the species epithets to account for the name being masculine, effected in Kury & Mendes 2020. (Credit to Adriano Kury for explanation)
