  • The species is one of the 11 Tydeus described by Koch (1838).
  • Listed as ‘‘ancient species’’ not identifiable by Kaźmierski (1998: 357).
  • Redescribed from Oudeman's collection by André (2005: 990–991).
  • Type-species of the genus Brachytydeus.
