Batracarus Fain, 1961

Senior homonym of Batracarus Vercammen-Grandjean, 1968, a genus proposed for Hannemania rouxi Oudemans as a member of the tribe Whartoniini (Prostigmata: Trombiculidae: Leeuwenhoekiinae). A replacement name, Anouracarus, was proposed by Vercammen-Grandjean (1973a: 314) and by Vercammen-Grandjean et al. (1973b: 62) but was not mentioned by Zhang & Wen (2000).
