Holotype: ZIN 55054. Paratypes: ZMV PSU 393 (ZIN 55055).
Type locality: Cooperation Sea, 66°35′S, 70°31′E - 66°44′S, 71°05′E, 990-2012 m depth.[1]
Etymology: The species has been named for the first ichthyology teacher of the author, Natalia Stepanovna Solovjeva (1911–2005). She was an associate professor and the head of the vertebrate department at Perm State University for more than 20 years. She was a talented teacher and cultivated active interest in fish in her students. June 13, 2011, was N.S. Solovjeva’s 100th anniversary.
