Welcome to Wikispecies!

Hello, and welcome to Wikispecies! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

If you have named a taxon, then it is likely that there is (or will be) a Wikispecies page about you, and other pages about your published papers. Please see our advice and guidance for taxon authors.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at Wikimedia Commons. This is also true for video or audio files containing bird songs, whale vocalization, etc.

Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username (if you're logged in) and the date. Please also read the Wikispecies policy What Wikispecies is not. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or in the Village Pump. Again, welcome!

A couple of things

edit

Hello there. Thank you for your contributions. I have a question and some feedback.

One: Why are you removing images? Even if there are many on Commons, it is helpful to see a representative here. I added the image back to Picea glauca.

Two: We are using ssp. for plantae subspecies instead of subsp. (Although you will see some instances where subsp. is used). See Wikispecies:Templates#Taxon Formatting Templates

Hi, could you please use all available templates (e.g. {{Vulpes}}? Thanks. Lycaon 09:54, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

VN conflict

edit

ia

is a genus and interwiki for interlingua

-- Ninjamask 20:30, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hopefully, this fixes it: I renamed/moved Template:Ia to Template:Ia (Vespertilionidae) and changed {{Ia}} to represent the Interlingua language. --Georgeryp 16:42, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

removed

edit

On 20 june you edited {{VN}} and in the process you removed many languages. please put them back. For example see Achyranthes aspera --202.134.25.5 06:44, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

thanks --202.134.25.5 21:51, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

template:<languagecode>

edit
{{description|1=Ang|2={{{1|}}}|3=Anglo Saxon|inline={{{inline|}}}}} <div class="description Ang">

the part

 <div class="description Ang">

is already added in template:description, so it has to be removed in the template:<languagecode>

Changes in formatting

edit

Hello, we no longer use __NOTOC__. We also used new taxonavigation formatting. OhanaUnitedTalk page 00:31, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

References should go above Vernacular names

edit

I see you have been moving the Vernacular names section. This is not correct.

I know there are plenty of articles that do not follow this, but the standard it References first and then Vernacular names.
