The name of this taxon appears to be invalid under the relevant nomenclatural code, as it is a redundant synonym of Brachytydeus or Tydeus.

The genus Tydulosus was erected by Baker (1965: 103) for species with a basket-weave pattern.
It comprised up to 4 species and was synonymized with Tydeus by André (1980: 154).
Not listed by Kaźmierski (1998) and by Silva et al. (2016).
Three species, dumosus, granulosus and visendus, are included in the genus Brachytydeus by Silva et al. (2016), lolitae is included in the genus Tydeus.
