Notes

• The behavior of Tydeus molestus was described in detail in 1889 but the species was formally described only in 1894.
• Listed as "ancient species" by Kaźmierski (1998: 357).
• Species not listed by Silva et al. (2016)
• Dermopathies produced by this mite or a similar species are described or reported by Principato et al. (2008), Principato & Scriboni (2009) and Stingeri et al. (2017).
