- Lectotype: BMNH 1946.1.21.81, adult ♀, collected by H.H. Smith, date unknown. [designated by Rossman & Burbrink (2005: 19)]
- Type locality: “Mexico, Omilteme and Amula in Guerrero”, restricted by lectotype designation to “Omilteme, Guerrero, Mexico” by Rossman & Burbrink (2005: 20).
- Etymology: Named after Frederick DuCane Godman.
