Holotype: USNM 361882, adult ♀, skin and skull.
Type locality: ““Lowrt, 1000 ft, St. Andrew Parish, Saint Vincent, British Windward Islands, Lesser Antilles.”
Taxonomic note: described as species, reduced to subspecies of Sturnira lilium by Jones & Phillips (1976: 11) and restaured to species status by Velazco & Patterson, (2013: 694).
