- Holotype: OUMNH J.10337, a skull and partial postcranial skeleton including anterior cervical and pectoral vertebrae, a partial hindlimb and ilium.
- Type locality: Street, Somerset, UK (likely lowermost Hettangian).
- Etymology: Specific epithet after Michael A. Taylor, who carried out acid preparation of OUMNH J.10337 during an earlier study of Street plesiosaurians.
