Lectotype: MNHN-RA-0.6901, ♂, collected by Leschenault between 1816 and 1822. [designated by Duméril & Bibron (1837: 439), by implicit; confirmed by Amarasinghe et al. (2015: 84, 88)]

Type locality: “Indes orientales”, restricted to “Pondicherry [=Puducherry]”, India, by Smith (1935: 144).

Paralectotype (1): MNHN-RA-0.6902, ♂, collected by Hope, from “Genji, Coromandel”, India. [designated by Amarasinghe et al. (2015: 84)]
