Santanaraptor placidus Kellner, 1999

  • Holotype: MN 4802-V (three caudal vertebrae with chevrons, ischia, femora, tibia, fibula, pes, and soft tissue)
  • Type locality: Brazil, Chapada do Araripe, Ceará , Romualdo Formation.

Etymology: from Portuguese Santana, refering to Group Santana (formely Santana Formation) found near the type locality (today Romualdo Formation). The specie placidus is a honor for Placido Cidade Nuvens, founder of Paleontology Museum of Santana do Cariri [Kellner, A.W.A., 1999: page 1-8]
