- Holotype: NSMT-M 21231, adult ♂, body in alcohol with skull removed, collected by Kunihiro Tsuda on 4 December 1972.
- Type locality: “Ōtomi-dō Cave, Iriomote Island, Yaeyama Islands, south Ryukyu Islands”, Japan.
- Etymology: named after Yoshinori Imaizumi.
