Rhamdia cinerascens (Günther, 1860)

  • Lectotype: BMNH 1860.6.16.193.
  • Paralectotypes: BMNH 1860.6.16.213 (1) Guayaquil.

Type locality: Esmeraldas, Ecuador.

Etymology: From cinereus (= ash-colored); –escens (= becoming), presumably referring to “uniform greenish-grey” coloration of upper part of body. (From The ETYFish project)
