Type locality: China, Sichuan prov., Lushan co., Zhangiabe vill. env. 650-750 m.

Holotype: Coll. COGM. male, China, Sichuan prov., Lushan co., Zhangiabe vill. env. 650–750 m, 20–24.2.2022, local collector leg.

Paratype: Coll. Lazarev & Coll. Ambrus, 12 males, 1 females, with same label; Coll. Ambrus, 1 female, China, Sichuan prov., Lushan co., Luyang, May 2018, local collector leg.

Bionomy: All specimens from Zhangjiaba village collected from bamboo stems. According to R. Ambrus (personal message), the taxon in Lushan County is being observed outside from the end of March to August, the most of beetles were observed from middle of April to middle of May. In other times only several specimens were observed They often visited flowers.

Etymology: The subspecies is dedicated to Richard Ambrus, who collected the type series.
