Neotype: IRSNB 1918. [designated by Bossuyt & Dubois (2001: 13)]

Type locality: “Neelgherries in the banks of streams and shrubs”, redesignated by neotype designation to “Botanical Gardens, Udhagamangalam ('Ootacamund', 'Ooty') (11°24′ N, 76°42′ E), Nilgiri Hills, Tamil Nadu, India” by Bossuyt & Dubois (2001: 13).
