Rhamdia laticauda (Kner, 1858)

Type locality: Mexico.

Etymology: From latus (= wide or broad), and cauda (= tail), based on ms. name by Heckel, allusion not explained; may refer to caudal peduncle (per Silfvergrip’s 1996 revision of the genus), which does not taper as it reaches the tail. (From The ETYFish project)
