- Holotype: USNM 10403, collected by W.F. von Manteuffel in 1878.
- Type locality: “near Fort Davis, Tex. This post is in the Apache Mountains, 50 miles from the Mexican border or Rio Grande, Northwest of Presidio del Norte”.
