- Holotype: NMSA, ♂, 27.i.78 / JGH Londt Bushveld.
- Type locality: SOUTH AFRICA: 2329BD / Transvaal 2-4 km S of / Bandelierkop.
- Etymology: From Greek napaios f. (of a wooded vale). In reference to the 'Towveld' distribution of the species, characterised by open wooded grassland.
