- Holotype: USNM 310255 (field number 4843), adult ♀, skinand skull, collected by C.O. Handley, Jr. and B.R. Feinstein on 9 February 1959.
- Type locality: “Tacarcuna Village, 3,200 ft. [= 975 m], Río Pucro, Darién, Panama”.
