- Original genus: Lepas
Type locality: given in Spengler as "Otaheite" (Tahiti); this seems to be error, and should be given as New Zealand
- Types: Plesiotypes, smaller specimens illustrated by Spengler; designation by Foster & Anderson, 1986: 58
- Distribution: Littoral, New Zealand, North Island, South Island, Stewart Island; where Chamaesipho brunnea is present, C. brunnea takes higher levels
