Type locality: Waterfall at Trang, Thailand.
Etymology: The specific name siamensis is derived from the old name of Thailand (Siam), the type locality.
Taxonomic note: Acc. to Bănărescu (1971) and Kottelat (2001) synonym of Chela laubuca. But see Kulabtong et al. (2012).
