- Holotype: FMNH 100075 (formerly EHT-HMS 16630), adult ♂, collected by Mrs. Hazel Roberts and E.H. Taylor on 11 August 1938.
- Type locality: “near Tianguistengo, Hidalgo, Mexico”
- Hyla proboscidea Taylor, 1948: 259 [nomen praeoccupatum pro Hyla proboscidea Brongersma, 1933; synonymised by Duellman (1965: 160)]
- Holotype: KU 23626, adult ♂, collected by by Walter W. Dalquest on 28 October 1946.
- Type locality: “2 km. west of Jico [= Xico], Veracruz, Mexico, at an elevation of 4,200 ft”.
- Hyla cyclomaculata Taylor, 1949: 272 [synonymised by Duellman (1965: 159)]
- Holotype: KU 26954, adult ♀, collected by by Walter W. Dalquest on 2 December 1948.
- Type locality: “Huatusco, Veracruz, Mexico (elevation 5000 ft.)”.
