Holotype: BMNH 1886.10.2.107, collected by Challenger Expedition on 8 September 1874.
Type locality: “Station 186; lat. 10°30' S., long. 142°18' E.; depth, 8 fathoms”, Torres Strait, Queensland, Australia.
