The name of this taxon appears to be invalid under the relevant nomenclatural code, as it is a redundant synonym of Ereynetes.

Erynetes Berlese, 1883

A misprint found in Banks (1904: 14, 112) who referred to the "European mite of this family, Erynetes limaceum Koch".
The misspelling Erynetes is also used twice by Rainbow (1906: 150).
