Type locality: forest at approximately 1000 m elevation, Parc National Montagne d’Ambre, 2.79 km NE of park entrance, Antsiranana Province, Madagascar.
Holotype: CAS. male ♂. 30.XI.1993. legit J. Coddington, C. Griswold, N. Scharff, S. Larcher, and R. Andriamasimanana. CASENT 9012012.
