Encrasicholina heteroloba (Rüppell, 1837)

  • Lectotype: ?SMF 4305.
  • Paralectotypes: BMNH 1845.10.29.104 (1); ?RMNH 3341 [ex SMF] (1); SMF 4714-17 (4).

Type locality: Massawa, Eritrea, Red Sea.

Etymology: etymology not explained and allusion not evident, possibly hetero- (= different), and lobus (= lobe), referring to distinctiveness of large, erect scales on each side of caudal fin. (From The ETYFish project)
