Gonorhynchus macmahoni (Zugmayer, 1912)

  • Syntypes: NMW 81256 [ex ZSM] (1) not found; ZSM [old collection] (orig. 13) destroyed in WWII.

Type locality: Dasht River, near Suntsar and Turbat, Baluchistan Province, Pakistan.

Etymology: patronym not identified; probably in honor of British diplomat and Indian Army officer Arthur Henry McMahon (1862-1949), who asked Zugmayer to establish a collection of marine fishes for a national museum in Quetta, Pakistan [note latinization of “Mc” to “Mac”]. (From: ETYFish project)
