Neotype: ZMUC-HOL-301, collected on July 1893. [designated by Heding & Panning (1954: 123)]
Type locality: “Insula Sitcha”, redesigned by neotype designation to “25 fathoms [= ca. 46 m] deep, 33°5′N, 128°22′E, Nagasaki, Japan” by Heding & Panning (1954: 123).
Observation: specific name limaconotus should be maintained as valid, as stipulated in Article 33.3.1 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature fide Yamana, Iwaoka & Hyakutake (2014: 26).
