- Neotype: FMNH 176137, adult ♂, body in alcohol with skull removed, collected by Vola Razakarivony on 11 November 2002. [designated by Ratrimomanarivo, Goodman, Stanley, Naidoo, Taylor & Lamb (2009: 28)]
- Type locality: “Mahab, au Ménabé”, redesignated by neotype designation to “in the Menabe Region of western coastal Madagascar, specifically at Belo sur Mer (20°44.139'S, 44°00.266'E) at 10 m above sea level” by Ratrimomanarivo, Goodman, Stanley, Naidoo, Taylor & Lamb (2009: 28).
