Type locality: Cyprus, Larnaca district, 0.8 km NW Vavla, 34°50′35.8″N 33°15′36.8″E / 34.843278°N 33.260222°E, 472 m.
Holotype: Coll. COGM. male, Cyprus, Larnaca district, 0.8 km NW Vavla, 34°50′35.8″N 33°15′36.8″E / 34.843278°N 33.260222°E, 472 m, 7.4.2023, R. Ambrus leg.
Paratype: Coll. Lazarev & Coll. Ambrus, 7 males, 4 females, with same label.
Bionomy: All beetles were collected on flowers of Quercus coccifera (between 11 am and 2 pm, partly cloudy, 24 degrees Celsius).
Etymology: The new species is dedicated to Richard Ambrus, who supplied me with the type series for study.
