Type species: Molossops aequatorianus Cabrera, 1917, by original designation.
Taxonomic note: Originally described as a genus, was reduce to subgenus of Molossops by Koopman (1993: 234), and restaured to genus rank by Eger (2007: 401) and Gregorin and Cirranello (2016: 11).
