  • The species is one of the 11 Tydeus described by Koch (1838).
  • Listed as ‘‘ancient species’’ by Kaźmierski (1998: 357) but not listed by Silva et al. (2016).
  • The slide "RMNH.ACA.P.5533" housed by the Naturalis Biodiversity Center (Leiden, The Netherlands) bears the handwritten mention "Neotype".
