  • Holotype: BMNH 1946.8.29.32 (former BMNH 1852.12.4.3). [in error acc. Murphy & Smith (1991: 316)]
  • Neotype: MVZ 64656, adult ♂. [designated by Opinion 1735 (1993: 186)]
  • Type locality: “California”, redesigned by neotype designation to “0.8 km south-west of Pinnacles National Monument, San Benito County, California” by Murphy & Smith (1991: 316).
  • Placed on the Official List of Specific Names in Zoology (Opinion 1735).
