Holotype: JAZM, ♂.
Type locality: Iran, West Azerbaijan Province, 10km west Ziveh, 37°08'N, 44°52'E, h 2700m, 8 July 2011.
Etymology: The species is named for Dr. Valery A. Korneyev (I. I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology, Ukraine), who has made a valuable contribution to the study of Palaearctic Platystomatidae.
