Type horizon: Vectis Formation: Upper Shepherd's Chine Member, Lower Cretaceous (Barremian–Aptian).

Holotype: Isolated left tegmen in well-cemented sand-filled gutter cast; 1992 leg. R.J. Twitchett. In Dinosaur Isle Museum (formerly the Museum of Isle of Wight Geology), Sandown, Isle of Wight (specimen no. MIWG 7090).
