- Holotype: BMNH 1897.5.2.16, adult ♂, skin and skull, collected by John Whitehead in 1895.
- Type locality: “in the highlands of Northern Luzon” fixed to “Monte Data, Lepanto, N. Luzon, 8000 feet” by Thomas (1898: 391).
