Holotype: AMNH 574, adult ♀, skin.

Type locality: “Riacho da Ressaque [=Ressaca],” a small tributary of the Rio Gavião (which flows into the Rio Contas), state of Bahia, Brazil (Hershkovitz 1959: 6).
