Type locality: Japan, Ryukyu Islands, Iriomote Island, off Akazaki, 24°22’27” N, 123°44’52” E, 13 m depth.
Etymology: The species is named in honor of Mr. Korechika Yano, who first discovered the species and photographed it underwater.
