Neopanax and Pseudopanax

Hello. There is no consensus regarding the exact circumscription of these two genera. Favouring an expanded Pseudopanaxover a more narrow circumscription is a taxonomic opinion at the moment. Not even New Zealand botanists can agree! However, WS can not take sides where there are differing taxonomic opinions and so I have reverted your well meaning edits on Neopanax and also have added a disputed tag on the genus taxon page. To be fair we ought to add the disputed species to Pseudopanax along with an equivalent disputed tag and explanation. Hope this helps Andyboorman (talk) 09:46, 12 November 2024 (UTC)

@Andyboorman: I made these changes after the recent move request decision at English Wikipedia was closed favouring a move to Pseudopanax, so that the pages would be consistent across Wikipedia/Commons/Wikidata. My apologies if this isn't consistent with how WikiSpecies handles disputed genera! Prosperosity (talk) 10:04, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
