Welcome to Wikispecies!

Hello, and welcome to Wikispecies! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

If you have named a taxon, then it is likely that there is (or will be) a Wikispecies page about you, and other pages about your published papers. Please see our advice and guidance for taxon authors.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at Wikimedia Commons. This is also true for video or audio files containing bird songs, whale vocalization, etc.

Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username (if you're logged in) and the date. Please also read the Wikispecies policy What Wikispecies is not. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or in the Village Pump. Again, welcome! --Open2universe 00:32, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Interwikis

edit

Hi, thanks for contributing but please note we use "en:" instead of "wikipedia:" for interwiki links. For example, see these changes and also the documentation: Help:Vernacular names section. Thanks. --Georgeryp 17:56, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Interwikis

edit

Hmmm, but now I don't see the link to the wikipedia article, neither Marginellona nor Afrivoluta. I use Firefox 2.0.0.8.

And I was also in doubt if this wikipedia link should go in the "Refrences" section. Pjsouza 22:36, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

The link is now in the left sidebar. Lycaon 07:15, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Currently, the English Wikipedia doesn't have articles for Marginellona or Afrivoluta so there aren't any interwiki links for them here on Wikispecies but there are Wikipedia articles for Marginellona gigas and Afrivoluta pringlei so you should see interwikis in the left margin/sidebar for those articles (I use Firefox too). Interwikis generally go at the end of the Vernacular names section (if it exists) which itself should be the last section on the page. If there's no Vernacular names section, just put the interwikis at the bottom of the page. Hope this helps. --Georgeryp 02:00, 1 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not for the genera, but it has for the species, anyway now I see the links on the left side bar. :) Pjsouza 11:52, 1 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Moving articles

edit

Hi there, I just deleted Afrivoluta priglei for you because of a typo. I just want you to know that you can move an article to a new title if that happens again. Just use the move tab at the top. --Open2universe 04:46, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
